On a warm afternoon in March, Col. Christopher Moretti, with his hands behind his back and his head down, paces behind a firing line as a cannon crew waits for its next emergency fire mission during a readiness test at Fort Bragg.
He's quiet as he walks, making mental notes of ways the soldiers can improve to be more lethal.
It's a familiar scene.
For the past two years, Moretti has led nearly 2,300 soldiers in the 82nd Airborne Division Artillery, preparing them for unknown missions to unknown places.
