The death of a Fort Bragg soldier who was hit by a vehicle during training last fall was accidental, investigators have determined.
Sgt. Jalisha Vonshay Tucker, a 24-year-old parachute packer for 3rd Special Forces Group’s Support Battalion, was struck by a vehicle on Yadkin Road near Canopy Lane. She was doing physical training around 6:45 a.m. on Oct. 24 when the accident happened, Army officials have said.
Chris Grey, a spokesman for the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command, said special agents worked with the Fort Bragg Military Police Traffic Accident Investigation Section and Provost Marshal’s Office.
The investigation was completed Jan. 5, he said.

Jane Dough refuses to let negativity into her life.
The Filipino-born disc jockey was thrown away by her mother when she was a baby. A passer-by heard her cries and got her to safety.
Years later, when her aunt had become her adoptive mother, Jane’s grandmother said it was her voice that saved her.
Now, she uses that voice - the voice that was almost muffled at an early age - to encourage listeners to find positivity every day.

Soldiers tediously shoveled sand, filling bags for their pits as Capt. Yisahar Izak moved around the training area.
His presence, quiet and unassuming, didn't alter the gruff language between laborious scoops. Instead, it offered a sense of serenity for anyone who might pull Izak, a chaplain, aside.
"You need anything?" Izak asked a soldier.
The soldier said he was OK and continued to fill sandbags.
"You know where to find me," Izak said.
Izak is Fort Bragg's only Jewish chaplain - and one of just 11 Jewish chaplains across the Army. It's not known exactly how many Jewish soldiers are in the Army, but as one of the Army's largest installations, it's likely that Fort Bragg is home to a significant portion of Jewish followers.
