Two Black Hawk helicopters crested just over the tree line - aggressively flying with cannons suspended from their bellies by chains and ropes.
In less than one minute, the helicopters hovered close to the ground while soldiers onboard carefully unfastened the M119 howitzer cannons and whisked them away. The helicopters returned a short time later and touched down to drop off artillerymen, who immediately scattered into position.
The first rounds of indirect fire were set off within minutes.
It's a rarely used tactic, but an air assault raid conducted with sling loaded howitzers is an impressive capability of Fort Bragg's artillerymen.
