Sen. John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has meddled with the Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl case to the point that his lawyers want it dismissed because they don't believe the soldier can receive a fair trial, according to a motion filed Monday.
The lawyers are asking Col. Jeffery Nance, the military judge overseeing Bergdahl's court-martial, for oral arguments on their motion. If he won't dismiss the case, they have asked the judge to limit Bergdahl's sentence to no punishment.
The request was made in a motion filed in military court.
