Following in the footsteps of Jesus, deployed Fort Bragg soldiers descended into the Jordan River Crossing for one of the most spiritual Christian sacraments.
The water was calm as three soldiers from the 18th Field Artillery Brigade stood hand-in-hand at Qasr al-Yahud in the river where the Bible says John the Baptist and Jesus met.
Army Chaplain Thomas Robinson held onto each of the soldiers as he dipped them in the water. Baptisms symbolize purification and admission to the Christian church.
