Fort Bragg's artillery soldiers were the first to use an advanced radar detection system to track and follow ISIS as it moved through remote fields and villages in the Middle East.
Soldiers in 18th Field Artillery Brigade used the Q-53 counter-fire radar system when they deployed to the Middle East in August 2015 - the first in the Army to use the system in real-world operations. The system can identify and track the origin of enemy fire and where the munition left an impact.
