A year ago, Col. Darron Wright jumped from a Fort Bragg plane with a group of other officers.
The group used different parachutes and missed the pre-jump practice other jumpers went through.
A soldier responsible for jump safety considered scratching them.
A colonel criticized them for being late.
But the group jumped anyway. And Wright fell to his death.
